Luxembourg is to host the headquarters of the body that will set up and deploy a pan-European supercomputer as part of the European Union’s (EU) High-Performance Computing (HPC) programme.

On 11, January 2018, the government affirmed that the new legal and financial structure, also called EuroHPC, will be deployed in the second half of this year.

Prime Minister Xavier Bettel said : “The Commission’s proposal to host the EuroHPC structure in Luxembourg confirms the attractiveness of the Grand-Duchy as an innovative country”

He said the country was “ready to play a pioneering, constructive and participatory role in the implementation of the digital agenda for Europe”.
